Search chats and messages

Search all chats

Type in the Search box at the top of the Chats tab. When you tap a message result, the chat opens at that message.

• On your phone, results are grouped into Contacts, Media and Messages.
• In the desktop app and Flowsy Web, results appear in three sections:
  • Chats and contacts: One-to-one chats, groups, archived chats (marked Archived) and contacts you don’t have a chat with yet. Click a contact without a chat to start a new one.
  • Groups in common: Groups that the matching people are in; for example, “Ali is in this group”.
  • Messages: Messages containing your search term, with the match highlighted. Your own messages show You.

If a section has many results, use Show … more at the bottom of the list. To clear the search, click × in the box or press Esc.

Search inside a chat

1. Open the chat and tap the contact or group name at the top.
2. Tap Search and type the word you’re looking for.

To jump to a specific day, pick a date with the calendar icon on the search screen.

Search ignores Turkish accents, so “ozet” also finds messages containing “özet”.
