Reply privately to a group message

When you want to answer a group message to the sender only, not the whole group, use Reply privately.

1. In the group, press and hold the message you want to reply to. In the desktop app and Flowsy Web, click the arrow on the message.
2. Select Reply privately.
3. Your one-to-one chat with the sender opens with the group message quoted. Type your reply and send it.

If you don’t have a chat with that person yet, a new one opens; it’s created when you send your first message.

The quote shows the sender’s name and the group name. Tap the quote to jump to the original message in the group. If you’re no longer in that group, you’ll see a message that the group is no longer among your chats.

When is it available?

Reply privately only appears in groups, on someone else’s message. It doesn’t appear on:

• Your own messages
• System lines and deleted messages
• Flowsy AI answers
• Messages in chats imported from WhatsApp
