Privacy settings

To open privacy settings, tap You > Privacy.

Visibility settings

You can choose who can see the following:

• Last seen and online
• Profile photo
• About
• Groups: Who can add you to groups.

The options for each are Everyone, My contacts, My contacts except… (your contacts other than the ones you select), and Nobody. If you choose Same as last seen for online status, people you hide your last seen from can’t see you online either.

Read receipts

If you turn off Read receipts, the sender doesn’t get a read tick when you read their messages. In that case, you also can’t see other people’s read receipts. Group chats aren’t affected by this setting.

Other settings

• Default message timer: The disappearing message timer for new one-to-one chats; existing chats aren’t affected. See Disappearing messages.
• Blocked contacts: See Block contacts.

Your privacy settings are saved to your account and apply on all your devices.
