Mute a chat

1. Open the chat and tap Mute in the ⋯ menu. You can also use the Notifications row on the contact or group info screen.
2. Under Mute notifications, choose the duration: 8 hours, 1 week, or Always.

Muted chats show a mute icon in the list, and new messages don’t make a sound. Muting is saved to your account, so your other devices don’t get notifications for that chat either.

Note: If someone mentions you with @ in a group you’ve muted, you still get a notification. You can also turn off a group’s @herkese (the @everyone mention) notifications separately; see Mention people.
