Import chats from WhatsApp

You import your WhatsApp chats by adding your WhatsApp account as a linked device to Flowsy. When the import is done, the chats appear in Flowsy.

  1. Tap You > Chats > Import from WhatsApp. If the Bring your WhatsApp chats card appears above the chat list, you can tap that too.
  2. Tap Start.
  3. Enter the phone number you use on WhatsApp and tap Get code.
  4. Copy the 8-digit pairing code on the screen with Copy and open WhatsApp. Tap the notification you get in WhatsApp and enter the code.
  5. On the What should we move? screen, choose the contacts, groups, and archived chats you want to import.
  6. Tap Import.

The import can take anywhere from a few minutes to about 20 minutes, depending on the number of chats. When you see Import complete, tap Go to chats.

  1. In Flowsy Web or the desktop app, open Settings > Chats > Import history from WhatsApp.
  2. Choose how to connect:
    • Connect with QR: In WhatsApp, tap Connected Devices > Link a device and scan the QR code on the screen.
    • Connect with phone number: Enter your number and enter the code shown to you in WhatsApp.
  3. Choose the chats you want to import and start the import.

Note: During the import, the phone where WhatsApp is open needs to stay connected to the internet. After you connect Flowsy to WhatsApp, you’ll see this connection in the Connected Devices list in WhatsApp.

Privacy: Chat history imported from WhatsApp is kept unencrypted on the Flowsy server; see Known limits of encryption.
