End-to-end encrypted backup
Your chat backups are always encrypted. By default, the encryption key is stored securely by Flowsy and tied to your account, so you can restore on a new phone without entering a password.
If you turn on end-to-end encrypted backup, only you know the backup’s key. Flowsy doesn’t know this password or key.
Turn it on
- Tap You > Chats > Chat Backup.
- Tap End-to-end encrypted backup.
- Choose a method:
- Create password: Set a password of at least 6 characters.
- Use a 64-digit key instead: Flowsy creates a key for you. Save it somewhere safe with Copy, then tap I saved the key.
From then on, your backup is encrypted with the password or key you chose.
Turn it off
Tap Turn off end-to-end encryption and enter your current password or key.
Note: If you lose your password or key, your backup can’t be restored and Flowsy can’t recover it. We recommend keeping your password in a password manager.
