Features you can use during a call

The buttons at the bottom of the call screen are More, Speaker, Video, Mute, and End.

More menu

When you tap More, these options open:

  • Add people: Invite others to the call; a one-to-one call turns into a group call.
  • Open chat: Write a message in the chat without leaving the call.
  • Share screen: Show your screen to the other participants.
  • Mic Mode: Choose the microphone setting that suits your surroundings.
  • Meeting link: Invite people who don’t have a Flowsy account; see Guest meeting link.
  • Live translation: Follow the conversation with captions in your own language; see Live translation.
  • Volume and grid/stage view.

Choose the audio output

If Bluetooth headphones, wired headphones or a car is connected to your phone, tapping Speaker opens the Audio output list: iPhone (Phone on Android), Speaker, the name of your Bluetooth device, Headphones or Car. The selected output has a checkmark. When audio goes to an external device, the button shows that device’s icon and the label Audio.

If nothing is connected, the button just turns the speaker on or off. On Android 12 and later, you need to allow Nearby devices to see the Bluetooth device’s name; without it, the row just says “Bluetooth”.

Adjust each person’s volume

In the desktop app and Flowsy Web, click the speaker button (Volume) in the call window. On the guest meeting screen, the button is called Audio.

  • All: The overall volume for everyone.
  • A separate slider for each participant. Click the person’s picture to mute or unmute them.
  • Presentation audio: Appears under a person while they share their screen with sound. It only turns down the shared audio; their voice stays at the same level.

These settings only change what you hear.

Blurring your background

In a video call, choose Off, Light blur, or Strong blur from the Background option. Blurring is done on your device.

Minimizing a call

You can move to other screens in Flowsy while a call continues:

  • In a voice call, a dark bar at the top of the screen shows the call time; from the bar you can mute your microphone or end the call.
  • In a video call or while sharing your screen, the call turns into a small, draggable window that snaps to the edge of the screen.

Tap the bar or the window to return to the call screen.

Rejoining a call

If you left a group call, or a call that became a group call when someone was added, a Join button appears in the chat while the call is still going. Tap Join to rejoin.

To manage how the meeting runs, see Meeting management.

Raising your hand

In group calls and meetings, tap Raise hand to ask for a turn to speak. To lower it, select Lower hand. Admins can lower all raised hands with Lower all.
