Delete messages

1. Press and hold the message you want to delete. To delete several messages, tap Select and mark the other messages too.
2. Tap Delete.
3. Choose one of the options:
   • Delete for me: The message is deleted only from your devices. Everyone else in the chat can still see it.
   • Delete for everyone: The message is deleted for everyone in the chat.

Time limit for deleting for everyone

You can delete your own message for everyone within 1 hour of sending it. The time left is shown in minutes next to the option. After the time is up, you can delete the message only for yourself. Group admins can delete messages in the group for everyone without this time limit.

Note: Sent messages can’t be edited. To correct a message, delete it for everyone and send it again.
